Stage mode is a dedicated interface in FlowBeats designed for live performances and extended rehearsals, featuring large button layouts, quick section switching, and flexible playback controls.
What Problem This Solves
- Live switching: Quickly and reliably switch between different rhythm sections during performances
- Rehearsal convenience: Minimize distractions during long rehearsals to focus on playing
- Automated flow: Auto-advance through multiple sections in a preset order
- Time control: Control practice or performance duration with countdown timers
Core Features
Large Button Layout
- 2×4 grid layout with large, easy-to-tap buttons
- 8 sections per page with pagination for more
- Clear display of preset name, BPM, sound kit, and time signature
Playback Modes

| Sequential | Auto-advances to the next section after the current one completes |
| Single Loop | Loops the current section until manually switched |
Section Switching
| Method | Description |
|---|---|
| Immediate | Switches instantly when tapped |
| After Measure | Waits until the current measure ends before switching, avoiding rhythm interruption |
Countdown Timer
Two timing modes available:

| By Measures | 1 - 999 measures | Stops after playing the specified number of measures |
| By Time | 1 - 60 minutes | Stops after the specified duration |
When countdown is active:
- Button shows green border and remaining value
- Measure mode displays remaining measures
- Time mode displays mm:ss countdown format
Usage
Entering Stage Mode
- On the Practice page, tap the Stage Mode button at the top
- Screen lock is automatically disabled
- All sections are displayed as large buttons
Playing a Section
- Tap any section button to start playback
- Switch to other sections while playing
- Tap the current section button again to stop
Switching Playback Mode
- Tap the Sequential or Single Loop button in the control bar
- Setting is saved automatically and persists between sessions
Setting Countdown
- Tap the Countdown button in the control bar
- Select timing type (measures or time)
- Set the value and tap start
- Playback stops automatically when countdown reaches zero
Using After-Measure Switching
- Tap the Immediate button in the control bar to switch to After Measure
- While playing, tap another section - the button shows a blue border
- Automatically switches to the new section after the current measure ends
Interface Guide
Control Bar
Located below the sequencer preview, contains three control buttons:

Section Buttons
Each section button displays:
- Top: Preset name
- Center: BPM value (large font)
- Bottom left: Sound kit type
- Bottom right: Time signature
Button states:

Page Navigation
When sections exceed 8:
- Left/right arrow buttons for pagination
- Center shows current page / total pages
- Supports wrap-around (last page → next → first page)
Relationship to Other Modules
- Practice: Stage mode plays sections from the Practice, inheriting BPM and sound kit override settings
- Rhythm Presets: Each section is based on a rhythm preset; preset content cannot be edited in Stage mode
- Sequencer: The sequencer preview at the top is display-only in Stage mode
Notes
- Playback stops automatically when exiting Stage mode
- A confirmation prompt appears when exiting during playback
- Screen stays on during Stage mode and returns to normal on exit
- Blank measure sections are not displayed in Stage mode
- In Sequential mode, playback auto-advances if there's a next section; otherwise it stops
