Frequently asked questions about Stage mode usage

Sections and Presets

Why can't I see my added sections in Stage mode?

Possible reasons:

  1. Section is a blank measure: Stage mode only shows "preset" type sections; blank measures are filtered out
  2. Section not saved: After adding sections in Practice page, you need to save the practice

Solution: In Practice page, confirm the section type is "preset" and has an associated rhythm preset.

Can I reorder sections?

Yes. In Practice page, drag section cards to reorder. Stage mode displays sections in the same order as Practice page.

Why is a section's BPM different from its preset?

Sections can override the preset's BPM. When editing a section in Practice page, you can set a custom BPM for each section.

Can I edit preset content in Stage mode?

No. Stage mode is a playback interface and doesn't support editing rhythm presets. To modify preset content, go to the Rhythm page.

Playback and Switching

What happens after the last section in Sequential mode?

Playback stops automatically. Sequential mode doesn't loop back to the first section.

Can I cancel a pending switch in After-Measure mode?

Yes. Tapping the currently playing section (green background) cancels the pending state and stops playback.

Does audio interrupt when switching sections?

Immediate mode: Brief interruption due to audio reloading.

After-Measure mode: Switches at measure boundaries for smoother transitions.

Why doesn't tapping a section respond sometimes?

Check if you're in "After Measure" mode. Tapping another section shows a blue border, meaning it's queued and will switch after the current measure ends.

Countdown

Does countdown reset when switching sections?

No. Countdown continues running across section switches and doesn't reset.

Which is more accurate: measures or minutes?

  • Measures mode: Precisely synchronized with musical progress, ideal for structural practice
  • Minutes mode: Relies on system clock, equally accurate when screen stays on (Stage mode keeps screen on)

Does recording get saved when countdown ends?

Stage mode doesn't include recording functionality. Countdown only stops playback; if you're recording with external devices, manage recordings separately.

Can I pause the countdown?

Countdown syncs with playback state:

  • Playing: countdown decreases
  • Paused: countdown also pauses
  • Stopped: countdown resets

Interface and Controls

Why doesn't the screen auto-lock?

Stage mode automatically disables screen lock to prevent the screen from dimming during performances or rehearsals. This returns to normal when exiting Stage mode.

Can I adjust volume in Stage mode?

Yes. Use device volume buttons, or use volume controls on Rhythm/Harmony pages.

Does playback continue after paging?

Yes. Paging only changes which sections are displayed, not playback state. A playing section continues even if you page away from it.

Can I edit the sequencer preview?

No. The sequencer preview in Stage mode is read-only, used only to confirm the current rhythm pattern.

Exit and State

Does playback continue after exiting Stage mode?

No. Exiting Stage mode automatically stops playback.

What if I accidentally tap back during playback?

A confirmation prompt appears. Select "Continue Playing" to cancel the exit.

Are playback mode settings saved?

Yes. Sequential/Single Loop settings are automatically saved and persist between sessions.

Are countdown settings saved?

No. Countdown settings are cleared when exiting Stage mode and need to be set again each time.
